Vote by Mail

If you are a qualified and registered voter in Atlantic County, you may apply to Vote By Mail by sending the County Clerk an official “Vote By Mail Ballot Application”. This application must be received by the County Clerk no later than 7 days prior to the date of the election in which you wish to vote. Your request should be on an official Vote By Mail Application. If you fail to meet the 7 day deadline, you may come to the County Clerk’s Office in person during the 7 day period prior to the election (until 3:00 PM the day before the election) to complete an application and receive a ballot.

Options

Voters now have the option of automatically receiving a Mail-In Ballot for the remainder of any calendar year (option “A” on the application) and they also have the option of automatically receiving a Mail-In Ballot for each General Election (option “B”). If the voter no longer desires this option, the voter must contact the Atlantic County Clerk’s Office in writing to cancel that service.

Mail-In Ballot By Authorized Messenger

The messenger shall be a family member or a registered voter in Atlantic County and the voter must designate, sign, and date the Messenger Designee Section of the Application (section 12). The Messenger (1) cannot be a candidate in the election for which the voter is requesting a Mail-In Ballot and (2) cannot serve as a Messenger for more than THREE (3) qualified voters per election and (3) the Messenger must sign the application in person and present official photo identification to the County Clerk or the County Clerk designee.

Military Service and Overseas Voters

Voting is available to Military personnel, their dependents and patients in veterans’ hospitals, and those affiliated with the U.S. military services. There is a special status box on the Vote By Mail Application for this. Military and Overseas voters can receive additional information about their voting privileges by emailing the Clerk’s Office through the website: www.atlanticcountyclerk.org.
